ABOUT
PCYD NPC was founded in 2021 by Elana Pekeur and Taryn Mentor. The non-profit company provides workshops for pattern-making, manufacturing and sewing to the youth and unemployed.
PCYD provides a platform for the disadvantaged, the encourage and motivate the communities to take this opportunity as a stepping stone in order to introduce hope and possibilities.
WORKSHOPS
The workshops are based in Mitchell's Plain focusing on the libraries in the areas and councilors halls.
The company has embarked on outreach programs to assist the need in other communities as well such as Rylands and Muizenberg.
FASHION SHOWS
PCYD hosted two fashion shows since the company has been founded.
One hosted in August 2022 called The Natural Glow Up and the other in February of 2023 called Through The Looking Glass.
PCYD wants to cultivate a space for the community and those who join the workshops or become members join the fashion shows to showcase what they have learned.
